This place is one of my favourite places to eat, drink and relax! The atmosphere is laid back, the food is delicious and the staff are so warm and friendly you can’t resist coming back for another visit.
I tried my first naturally gluten free lemon polenta cake, baked by The Town Mill Bakery two years ago at the boyfriend’s uncle’s wedding and couldn’t believe the delicious, sweet and wonderfully more-ish taste. There was also an orange polenta cake which was soo yummy and tasted of summer.
Recently I was visiting the boyfriend and we spent a few lovely afternoons in The Town Mill Bakery enjoying lattes (mine a soya, his regular) and trying the various treats they had to offer. Treats with an s… there was more than one thing I could try! I can’t remember the last time I had a choice of options for a cake or desert. One day I had the chocolate polenta cake (that’s a picture of it at the top!), another day I had a slice of the lemon polenta cake and my favourite was the cheesecake with a base made with crushed lemon polenta cake.
If you are fortunate enough to visit The Town Mill Bakery then let me know how you get on. I promise you won’t be disappointed, and you’ll be planning your next visit there in no time! I asked about gluten free bread (as they are most known for their wonderful bread selections) but they said they did not have a gluten free bread available at the moment, so I will keep you posted if they have developed one by my next visit. And, with the savoury food, we didn’t try that this time, so I’m not sure what gluten free options would be available there, but I am sure that if you want to find out, the wonderful staff there would be more than happy to help you out. Here’s their website for more information (and some pictures that will get your taste buds going…!) http://townmillbakery.com/index.php
