I’ve moved into my new house, got a new doctor and FINALLY I am being taken SERIOUSLY. Only 5 years late hey??
I’ve had so many blood tests over the years but seeing as I’ve been gluten free while having them, they’ve naturally come up as negative. And other than these tests, i’ve done the reduction diet (how we sussed out that it was wheat and gluten that was causing the issues) and had internal and external ultrasounds. However, this doctor seems to want to start from scratch and get this whole situation figured out! So, I’ll be having my first round of tests next week and then hopefully off to see a specialist once those results come in! I can’t believe I am actually looking forward to a doctor’s appointment, but it has been SOOOO long and I’d like things figured out!!!!
So, at the moment, I’m on Day 5 of eating wheat and gluten and I’m feeling pretty yuck! I feel like I’m more on Day 5 of a hangover if I’m honest, but this doesn’t surprise me too much as that’s the way I described the feelings in a past post about being glutened ‘I have a Gluten-Over’. I quite like Miley Cyrus description of being ‘glutened’ as being ‘glutenized’… made me feel a little better too to think that other people are going through this crappy experience too!! I ache in my joints, feel like I have the flu, my tummy feels like it’s had it’s very own WWE wrestling experience and generally, I would like nothing more than to sleep (preferably on a memory foam mattress… need to get me one of these!!)
I went all out on the first few days and was trying to fit gluten into every meal, however I’ve opted to have one free-from meal which tonight will be Jacket Potato with Prawns, creme fraiche and salad YUM!
SO… enough moaning about my stupid aches, pains and gluten challenge. Deep down,
I am FULLY aware that it is to help me in the long run, and no matter how rubbish I feel right now, I am heading towards feeling much better! I
have to look at it like this as I am so lucky – whatever is happening in my tummy can be sorted, some people have so much worse luck than this, so i’ll be going for the glass half full approach and seeing this whole palaver as a positive experience.
Also… I’M GETTING KITTENS IN 5 DAYS EEK!! So that’s keeping me up-beat!! They’re the ones decorating this post… the one sitting up is Toulouse, the boy and the one lying down is Tabitha, the girl!
Stay away from the gluten.
